The Friends of St Denys’

The Friends of St Denys' is a sub-committee of the PCC which helps to raise funds for the upkeep of the fabric of the Church (i.e. the building’s existing structure, or any furnishing, soft or otherwise, within it).

The Friends organise a number of fund-raising events each year, including Quiz Nights, Horse Racing Nights and a Charity Golf Day in the summer.

The Friends also organise the designing and printing of Christmas cards each year and run stalls at other church fund-raising events, such as the Christmas Market. They also run a 100 Club (see below).

On average, the Friends raise about £4000 a year for St Denys’ church. New members are always welcome – if you would like to join the committee, or find out more about us, please contact Mike Whitlam email: tea-ltd@btconnect.com

N.B. We are currently looking to source a new source for printing our Christmas cards – please get in touch if you can recommend anyone.

St Denys’ 100 Club

The Friends also run a 100 Club which currently has 73 members. Membership is open to anyone who would like to contribute to the on-going conservation of the Church and individuals can purchase as may entries as they like.

Each entry cost £5 per month, paid quarterly, and there is a quarterly draw of which half of all the income is paid in the form of 6 cash prizes - 50% first prize and 5 runners-up prizes of 10%. The other half of the money goes to the Church Fabric Fund.
