Morning Services in benefice

1st Sunday

10:00 Family Service at St Denys'

This is a service for everyone but has an emphasis on being child-friendly.  We hope that parents can bring young children and find the service not too long (45 minutes).

Each service is prepared by the Family Service Planning Group and their remit is to create an act of worship that is relevant for both young and old.  Music is both modern and traditional and talks generally use visual aids to help teach the stories of Jesus and or aspects of the Christian life.

Our puppet team, Puppet Tree, regularly feature in this service and produce sketches to a high standard.

11:15 Family Service at St Mark's

A family friendly service for all ages with an illustrated address.

2nd Sunday

10:00 Parish Communion at St Denys'

This is the main Sunday service and follows the service of Holy Communion from Common Worship.  It has traditional hymns.  The music is led by the church choir and accompanied by the organ.  The Sermons are Bible based and last around 10-15 minutes.  Intercessions and readings are undertaken by members of the congregation.

Currently there is no regular Junior Church but one can be arranged on prior notice. There are always toys available in church for very young children.

11:15 Parish Communion at St Mark's

Parish Communion with Sunday Club (Sunday School) with a mixture of hymns and choral pieces accompanied by the organ and choir.

3rd Sunday - 10am Shorter Communion

10:00 Shorter Communion at St Denys'

This service is for everyone and children are present.  It is a shortened service lasting just under an hour and follows the pattern of Common Worship.  Eucharistic Prayer H is used and the address with power point is around 5 minutes to allow the service to be kept to within the hour.

For those who would like prayer we offer prayer ministry during communion.

Whilst children are present the service content is not directly aimed at them and the hope is that they can experience and be part of an adult act of worship.

4th Sunday

This is the main Sunday service and follows the service of Holy Communion from Common Worship.  It has traditional hymns and a Psalm is sung.

11:15 Morning Prayer at St Mark's

5th Sunday
